Final 90 Days Challenge
Week 11

Holy forking shirt-balls, mamas! We’ve got just TWO WEEKS LEFT in our challenge!

Keep is steady and think about the NOW, not the weight loss, not the old pants you want to fit into, but how do you feel in this moment NOW.

When you go through your day being mindful of making yourself feel good, you will be much more likely to make better choices than if you’re focused on that slimming down goal.

Will a 5 minute stretch, or parking farther away from the grocery store, or a set of 20 squats burn enough calories to help you lose weight today? Will a salad for lunch counter the 2 donuts you ate for breakfast? Nope! Not even close.

But all of those choices WILL make you feel good, relaxed, proud, and will keep your body and mind feeling awesome all day. And all those little choices you make will add up in a week, a month, and a year to actually get those results you’ve been working on since your 6 year old was born. And stay there.

You’ve been working hard building momentum for the past 90 days. Let’s make it stick!

If you’ve liked this challenge and you feel ready to hit your goals, boost your energy and confidence, and empower yourself to understand how to treat your body so it can take you through this awesome journey of life, then you need the NEW Our Tribe of Savages group coaching program — kicking off January 27th!

Summary of Week 11 objectives:

  • Nutrition: Read your nutrition labels

  • Fitness Challenge: 5-20 minutes every day

  • Wellness Challenge: Power statements

NUTRITION:

Getting to know your labels is HUGE for making healthy choices you’re confident in. Beware not only of the difference between what’s promoted on the front of the package and what the nutrition label says, but also how you read those nutrition labels.

“Pretty much anything you see on the front of the package is marketing hype. Manufacturers will add tiny amounts of something — vitamins, antioxidants, protein or a little fruit juice — so they can tout it on the front and trick you into thinking it’s a healthy product.” Melanie Warner, author of Pandora’s Lunchbox

Read all of your labels this week. ALL OF THEM. Make sure the ingredients listed are FOOD, not chemically-sounding preservatives and dyes. Not just for your “health” but for your waistline!

Check the amounts of sugar and compare to other similar items on the shelf. You’ll be surprised how much sugar can be added to things you didn’t even realize.

Get to know portion sizes and calories per portion. Gaining a solid understanding of what you’re putting in your body and what that means to your nutrient intake for the day is key. You can’t sustain a healthy lifestyle without really understanding what you’re putting in your body.

To recap - the key things to note are:

  • Ingredients - keep them as free of additives as possible.

  • Sugars - watch and compare the amount to other similar products to make sure you’re not eating a bunch more sugar than you need to be.

  • Calories - pay attention to portion sizes.

You can read more about this stuff in this article I found that helps break it down for you.

FITNESS:

This is a 30 minute workout, but you can break it up and do 5 or 10 minutes here and there throughout your day or week. I add some resistance with a band to some exercises, but it can all be done with no resistance for those without equipment or needing to focus on form!

Our challenge this week is to get in 5-20 minutes of exercise a day ON TOP of your active lifestyle as a mom. It’s all about making a choice to do a little something extra every day. Push yourself to try this week as Chanukah and Christmas are looming ahead!

Take a walk or jog, do this workout, create a quick short circuit of your own to do while the water boils, or just stretch at the end of the day. Do something Savage!

Post in the group to stay accountable!

WELLNESS:

A power statement is a powerful thing! Find one (or a few!) that speaks to you and say it to yourself every day in the mirror. You won’t believe how it will improve you’re life. Here are some of my faves!
