SAVAGE WELLNESS Inclusivity Statement

I want to make it clear that I and the Savage Wellness community stand unequivocally with the Black community. We are an anti-racist community and will continue to strive to do our best to support, educate, learn, and grow as good humans committed to being the change we want to see in the world.

As a mother and a human being I am horrified by the hatred and violence we as a country witness and I am ashamed that I have been so blind to the suffering of Black people and POC on a daily basis.

I would like to apologize and acknowledge that I see that my support of the Black Lives Matter movement was passive until now and I am truly sorry for that.

As a white cisgender woman and business owner I am committed to understanding my own privilege and contribution to the current environment of systemic racism in America and working towards being a better ally and advocate for BIPOC.

As I make this commitment to learn, grow, and take action to support my fellow human beings, I am aware of my need to address our need to create a more approachable and thriving community and set of mama resources for our LGBTQ+ community.

I am creating this inclusivity statement to make sure my members and clients know where I stand and so anyone coming into my community understands that any hateful or racist speech will not be tolerated in any of my forums or communities.

I, Shannon, and Savage Wellness, am ready to take action as an individual, as a business, and as a mother, to what it means to be anti-racist and inclusive.

Here's how I am taking my first steps:

1) I am and always have been a mission oriented business that is committed to giving back. I will make sure my % sales donations and contributions will go to organizations dedicated to supporting all mothers, children, and families along with education for our communities to continue to progress toward equality.

2) I will be doing my own research about how Savage Wellness can be a more inclusive community to support BIPOC and LGBTQ+ parents and anyone who identifies as a mother. We want to make sure we address the needs of a broader spectrum of mama communities' wellness needs. I understand it is my responsibility to find these solutions, but I also welcome feedback and suggestions as to how we can better serve our global motherhood community.

3) I am committed to finding more ways to represent women of color and mamas of every sexual orientation in the resources and materials I provide as well as in the operations of my business. I see that contractors I hire and wellness professionals I bring in are not representative of the diversity I want to see. I am not proud of that and I am making an effort to be a more inclusive business as I begin to grow my team.

I invite you to feel free to hold me, and Savage Wellness as I grow my business, accountable for all of this.

For all of you in my community suffering, fighting and working to create change, I am with you sending love, strength and support.

With love and strength,

Shannon, CEO and founder of Savage Wellness
